Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell (born in New York City) is an American TV reporter, journalist anchor and commentator for NBC News based at Washington D.C. Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in English language from the University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell joined KYW Radio and TV as a Philadelphia reporter in the year 1967. 1996, she became a reporter for WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). She was promoted to Washington general correspondent with NBC News two years later. From 1981 onwards she started reporting from the White House. In 1988 she became the head of the congressional reporters. She was made the chief White House correspondent in 1992. And chief foreign affairs Correspondent for NBC News. Mitchell was a guest as a guest on TV news program Meet the Press as a host and panelist. She was part of a panel discussion at the 1988 Presidential Debates between George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism for The John F. Kennedy School of Government. Also in 2004, Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) was honoured Mitchell for her role in the defense of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell was the first journalist to cover White House stories for NBC News during Ronald Reagan's tenure as president from 1981-1988. Mitchell was a reporter on a range of notable stories, including the Iran-Contra scandal as well as budget tax reforms as well as arms control. Mitchell travelled with Ronald Reagan several times to summits and debate issues including and the Iran Contra scandal.
